EarlierI was in a dark world
Whereno one could see my presence.
Whereno one could hear my voice
Where no one could feelmy worth.
Earlier I was a Tibetan just by name.
I was not even aware of my ownidentity.
I was not even aware of our own story,
The heart breaking story of Tibet.
Afterpassing many empty years
Inthe darkness of ignorance.
Ijoined this great school
Where my new life began.
Ican’t forget that great year ‘2005’
When I joined this Centre of Education.
I met so many new friends and teachers
Whoshared with me all the things they know.
Webecame like family members
Andthe school became my home.
SlowlyI can see a change in me
And I was no longer ina dark world.
One day suddenly you came to our School
And my question was “Who are you?”
I had no knowledge about you
Butstill I folded my hands for you.
Timepassed by
AndI learned more about you.
Themore I learned about you,
The more respect I hadfor you.
From your ever busy schedule,
You however find and spare some time
And spend your whole day with us
Without showing any pain on your face.
Youconfined yourself on the chair
Forhours without any complain.
Youimpart us with your boundless knowledge
And philosophy ofethical values.
As a visiting professor and a guide,
You exposed us to the vastness ofwisdom.
You made us aware of Moral values
Andour responsibilities as a Tibetan.

Youexpanded of our mind to the world of wisdom
Andwidened it more than we had anticipated.
Yourkindness and genuine care
Always embrace ourheart with bliss.
I respect and salute your believe inus
That we will do something in future.
So I promise that I’ll make youproud
By becoming a real human being.
Thisis our final year
Inthis small school of wisdom,
Inthis small school of joy
And in this smallPetoen family.
But when we leave this school,
We will be carrying with us,
A mind full of knowledge and wisdom
Anda heart full of love and sweet memories.
